Noche Buena Beer Packaging Design

A toast to a great beer

In the heart of Mexican Christmas festivities, Noche Buena beer stands as an eagerly awaited annual tradition. Everybody in Mexico knows that when they find Noche Buena in stores, it means the year is about to close, and times of unity and celebration with family and friends are approaching. But even traditions need a new spark from time to time. With this in mind, at Troubadour Design Studio, we took the creative reins to redesign this Christmas icon, injecting a renewed spirit through a blend of seasonal emotions and the great taste of Noche Buena beer.

Interlacing tradition with the present time

We initiated this project with a dedicated pledge to safeguard the legacy of Noche Buena, with the purpose that it would persist as the guiding light, year after year, igniting the flame of the holiday spirit. Our aim was to create a unique visual language that remained true to the brand's essence, evoking its history and to keep its place in the heart of Christmas traditions.

Before                                                                                                                                                    After

Colors that convey sensations

The team delved into the essence of Christmas, resurfacing with a shade of red even deeper than the December sunset, complemented by green details reminiscent of the Christmas trees that light up our homes. The poinsettia flower, from which our beer derives its Spanish name, is a symbol of this season in Mexico, and this is why it took center stage in the secondary packaging design. It enveloped the bottle with its signature red petals, embodying a festive and warm ambiance that graces homes during the holiday season.

The golden details were not just applied; they were intricately woven like threads of light into the red tapestry, symbolizing the light that filters through windows on a night filled with hope. The ascending band, a distinctive and well-recognized asset of Bohemia beer brand, received a touch of vibrancy with a green stripe, cradling the Noche Buena logo.

Before                                                                                                                                                    After

A storytelling packaging

The 12 bottle package has been transformed into a visual narrative. The poinsettia petals seem to twirl around the bottle, symbolizing the gathering of families and the moments of generosity that define the season. The "Bohemia" signature serves as the seal of authenticity, a commitment to excellence and annual growth, a promise of quality with each sip.

We commemorate this Noche Buena redesign as more than just a visual change; it's an homage to the season, a tribute to Mexican culture, and a testament to the creative power that links the past with the present. The bottle and its packaging, long-standing icons of Christmas, are rejuvenated and extend an invitation to celebrate with a visual story that is both a revelation and a reminder that beauty indeed unites.

More than just a beer, an experience

The revitalization of Noche Buena reinforces the brand's identity as the beer that embodies Christmas and serves as a reminder to millions of Mexicans that it's time to pause and celebrate with their nearest and dearest. Noche Buena is not merely a beverage within a bottle; it is a collection of countless stories shared around it year after year.
